Swedish company launches world-beating
holographic data storage unit for smart cards
Malmo-based Optilink has stolen a march on rivals by introducing
the first portable holographic data storage unit for the writing
and reading of smart cards, including those with more than
100MB storage.
The holographic unit, named Demonstrator, is able to write
and read
polarization holography system! The Demonstrator is writing
and reading chip holograms 10mm by 10mm in size with a capacity
of 30 MByte raw data per chip, which provides a data density
of 30 MB per square centimeter.
