Cambridge-based medical microtechnology company Sphere Medical Holding Ltd has raised £4m in private equity funding from SpringHill Bioventures, Herald Ventures, Artemis, Hotbed and the Generics Group.

Capital Fund propels internet solutions firm to success

London’s regional venture capital fund, The Capital Fund, a £50m venture fund which backs fast-growing SMEs in Greater London, succeeded in becoming the first of the nine funds to achieve the first profitable exit when UK Explorer Ltd, one of the fund’s investee companies, was bought by Spectrum Interactive Ltd, the UK’s leading independent payphone and internet kiosk operator.
